In a converter brake system, pneumatic air pressure is converted to hydraulic output pressure for activation of brakes.

Our converters are included when we develop new complete converter brake systems for vehicles and trailers – everything from brake to pedal. The converter can also be purchased as an individual item.

Spring brake cylinder

At Rydahls, we offer a wide range of spring brake cylinders and parts for various tasks and machine applications. A spring brake cylinder can be used in several technical areas:

  • The spring brake cylinder can be a multi-function cylinder, which can be used for service brake, parking brake and emergency brake. Examples are applications with S-cam brake and cam brake. Various types for use in DUAL-LINE systems according to EU Regulation 2015/68 with different options in terms of callipers, fixed (c-c as pneumatic cylinders) or floating type shown in the illustration.
  • The spring brake cylinder can also be a simple pulling cylinder that exerts pressure during the negative (pull) stroke.
